Niepoort & Perez Ladredo 2012
Description
Ladredo is the name of a small 50 yo vineyard and a project in between Dirk Niepoort, Pedro Rodriguez from Guimaro and Raul Perez. This very steep vineyard is co-planted with 65% Mencia (called Jaen in Portugal) and 35% Alicante Bouschet. The idea behind the project was to produce a fine and delicate, almost Burgundian wine, with the typical freshness and elegance of the Ribera Sacra region.
Tasting Notes
Aromatic nose of pepper, herbs, tobacco and spices with a sense of great fruit purity and minerality. The wine is medium bodied, with lovely mineral, blue fruits flavors and dusty notes. Silky tannins, stunning fresh acidity and persistent finsih.
